Shotgun Training

Introduction

The police shotgun is a valuable tool in the hands of a capable, trained operator. STRIKE Tactical Solutions teaches close range, fast manipulation of the firearm system, we show its strength and weaknesses.

Description

The shotgun is in our opinion the most misunderstood and under-utilized firearm in the arsenal of the police officer. The system can be used on duty from less lethal confrontations to putting down a buffalo if necessary.

STRIKE Tactical teaches all the various uses of the shotgun, guages, chokes, barrel length, various types of ammunition etc. so that students can fully understand how the system works and how to optimally use the firearm on duty.

Important Notice:

This training program is geared towards the first line of defense against crime and terrorism, the Police Patrol Officer, Under-Cover Operative and Police Detectives in general.

Although our terminology might be the same as other trainers and schools, please note that we teach FIGHTING skills used under duress. All tactics and techniques taught are reality based and street proven.


CURRICULUM:

Safety Lecture, Various types of ammunition and their use, barrel length and variances in accuracy, Barrel length and distance, Barrel chokes and their effect, Patterning of shotguns, Loading and unloading of the system, Carry methods, deployment from Police vehicles, Aggressive STRIKE shooting stance, Correct mounting of the shotgun, Shot Placement, Sustainability under duress, Tactical movement, Multiple target engagement, Transition to secondary weapon systems, Re-directed shooting techniques, Ammunition swop-out techniques, Shotgun tactics, Distance shooting, Use of electronic sights, Fast accurate shooting. Qualification.

Please Note: STEEL PLATES AS WELL AS CARDBOARD TARGETS WILL BE USED DURING THE FIRING RANGE SECTION OF THE COURSE.

Course Duration: 8 Hours

Ammunition needed: 250 Rounds (Duty Ammo)

Speciality Ammunition Needed: 20 Rounds Slug Type
